Petit Point

Just a quick short post. I am busy stitching for the screen of a sewing table and have reached the halfway stage.

I charted this myself from an antique piece dating from the second quarter of the 18th century, you can see the original here. I am stitching it on 70 count silk gauze with Pipers silk.

Have a great week everyone
Elga

Beautiful colours! Must be such a challenge on 70 count!

Sorry about not winning the tiles...

This is going to be another triumph! Your interpretation of the original is an art unto itself and then there is your superb needlework...70 count?!? That's just crazy-talk!

When I read '70 count' my mind goes: now THATS miniature!
I know I don't do justice to your work but I honestly just can't wrap my mind around it just how small this work all is.

I have a good magnifier, but even using that I could hardly see the holes in the fabric.
I have decided it must be magic what you do :D.

Hug,
Gee

Thank you everyone :-) I sure appreciate all the lovely encouraging comments that you all leave.

Chas, yes I do use magnifiers, plus I am nearsighted which helps a lot.

Catherine, you are always welcome to come and play, so sorry there is this huge body of sea between us.

To all of you who marvel about the 70 count, I am quite used to it by now and see it easily, the 90 count is the one that gives me headaches, yes Mindy there are even still smaller counts up to 112, but that one I have given up on, I just can not see it :-)
